From late autumn to early spring the pike-perch likes to stay in the relatively shallow, that is, two or three meters deep waters, near the holes and other unevennesses of the sandy or loamy river bed. But you cannot find a pike-perch in every place which seems to be good, and you must spend long years on the river to recognize these hiding places of the real specimens.
